This Community's Portlets

You can create portlets specifically for use in this community.

You can perform the following actions on this page:

• To create a portlet available only to this community, click Create Portlet. Choose a portlet template and click Next>>. Complete the Portlet Editor. For more information, click here.
  The new portlet you create is stored in the community folder. You can also create a portlet for this community by navigating to the community folder and, from the Create Object drop-down list, selecting Portlet.

• To edit a portlet, click its name.

• To delete a portlet, select it and click .
  When you delete a portlet, it is deleted from the community folder.

• To change the order in which portlets are sorted, click Community Portlet Names. The icon to the right of the column name signifies the current alphabetical sort order: ascending () or descending ().

Notes:

• Portlets created in the Community Editor are only available within the community.

• To display these portlets to community users, you must add these portlets to the appropriate community page.

• To make a community portlet available to other communities, move the portlet to a non-community administrative folder.

• To edit an existing community within the community page:

1. In the My Communities menu, click the community you want to edit.
2. On the right, click Edit Page.
3. In the Flyout Editor, click Go to Advanced Editor.
4. On the left, under Edit Community Settings, click This Community's Portlets.

Note: To edit a community, you need Edit access for the community.

• To edit an existing community from Administration:

1. Click Administration and navigate to the community you want to edit.
2. Click the community name.
3. Click .

4. On the left, under Edit Community Settings, click This Community's Portlets.

• To create a new community:

1. Click Administration.
2. Open an administrative folder.
3. In the Create Object drop-down list, click Community.
4. In the Community Templates section, click Select Community Template.
5. In the Community Templates dialog box, choose a community template and click OK.
6. If this community template does not include a home page, in the Community Pages section, click Create Home Page; then, in the New Page dialog box, choose a page template and click OK.

7. On the left, under Edit Community Settings, click This Community's Portlets.

Note: To create a community, you need Edit access for the administrative folder and the Create Community activity right.
