Creating and Editing Administrative Objects

The same process can be used to create or edit any administrative object in the portal.

To create an administrative object:

  1. Click Administration.
  2. Open an administrative folder.
  3. In the Create Object drop-down list, click the type of object you want to create.
  4. Complete the editor.
  5. To save your changes, click Finish.
  6. In the Save Object dialog box:
    1. Choose a location in which to save the object.
    2. Name the object.
    3. Depending on the type of object, you might also be able to:
    4. When you are finished, click Save.
  7. If your object is created successfully, you have the opportunity to create other associated objects. For example, you might need to create a job to run the content crawler you created, or you might need to create a portlet based on the Web service you created. To create an associated object, click the appropriate link on the Success page.

To edit an existing administrative object:

  1. Click Administration.
  2. Navigate to the object you want to edit.
  3. Click the object name.

    To edit a community, after opening the community folder, click .
  4. Edit the values in the editor.
  5. To save your changes, click Finish. To return to the administration page without saving your changes, click Cancel.
