Activity rights define what a member of a group can do. For example, you can specify that users can create communities, create folders, create content types, and create portlets. Activity rights are global and cumulative. If a user is a member of multiple groups, each with different rights, that user inherits all the activity rights of all the parent groups. That user can exercise all of those rights in any area of the portal to which that user has the appropriate access. Groups can also inherit activity rights.
To add activity rights:
Under Activity Rights, click Add Activity Rights
to display the Select Activity Rights dialog box.
Select the activity rights you want to add. For example, if you select Create Jobs, the members of the group will be able to create jobs in the portal.
To save the group activity rights, click Finish.
To remove activity rights, select the activity right that you want to
remove and click .
Important: It is not necessary to grant a user the right to create a type of object for that user to manage an object of that type. Management of an object is based solely on a user’s access privilege to that object.
Under Inherited Activity Rights you see any activity rights granted to the parent groups of this group.
