Portlet templates allow you to create your own portlets with minimal knowledge about configuration and coding. For example, you can choose an Excel portlet template to create an Excel spreadsheet to track a project. A portlet can be placed on My Pages or community pages.
Note: If you are creating a portlet inside a community, that portlet will only be available to this community. To make the portlet available to other areas in the portal, you must copy it to an administrative folder.
