The Adaptive Page Layout Settings page enables you to specify whether to use adaptive page layouts to display the user interface or use the legacy user interface used in previous versions of the portal. It also enables you to select specific adaptive page layouts for different areas of the portal.
Under Adaptive
Page Layout Mode, specify if this experience definition should
display adaptive page layouts for users viewing this experience definition.
By default adaptive page layouts are enabled. To disable adaptive page
layouts for this experience definition, clear the Enable
Adaptive Page Layout Mode box. If you disable adaptive page layouts,
this experience definition will display the legacy user interface used
in previous versions of the portal.
Notes:
This setting is not available if adaptive layouts are disabled in the portal configuration files.
This setting controls only adaptive page layouts, not adaptive portlet layouts, which are controlled by the page layouts selected for My Pages and community pages.
If you enabled adaptive page layouts, under Layout Chooser for Page Layouts, specify the layouts you want to display for each page layout type:
The Base Page Layouts setting specifies the layout of components that are common to each page (header, footer, navigation, content area).
The Profile Page Layouts setting is similar to the base page layouts, however it applies only to user profile pages.
The Knowledge Directory Layouts setting specifies the layout for the content area of the Directory. The common components of the Directory are specified in the base page layout.
The Search Results Layouts setting specifies the layout for the content area of the search results. The common components of the search results are specified in the base page layout.
The Portlet Selection Layouts setting specifies what layout to use for the pop-up or fly-out editor used to select portlets.
The Login Page Layouts setting specifies the layout for the content area of the Login page. The common components of the search results are specified in the base page layout.
The My Account Page Layouts setting specifies the layout for the content area of the My Account pages. The common components of the search results are specified in the base page layout.
The Error Page Layouts setting specifies the layout for the content area of error pages. The common components of the search results are specified in the base page layout.
The Community Selection Layouts setting specifies what layout to use for the pop-up or fly-out editor used to select communities.
Note: You must create additional adaptive page layouts before you can select anything but the default layouts. For information on creating adaptive page layouts, see the Oracle WebCenter Interaction UI Customization Guide, which is located on the Oracle Technology Network at http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/bea.html.
Under Layout Chooser for Portlet Layouts, select whether you want to override the portlet layouts selected in individual My Pages and community pages when this experience definition is used.
If you do not want to override the selected portlet layouts, select Override disabled.
If you want to display a particular
portlet layout for all pages when this experience definition is used,
select the desired portlet layout from the drop-down list.
For example, you might want to create an experience definition
for iPhone users which always displays the iPhone portlet layout for My
Pages and community pages. The portlet layouts selected in individual
My Pages and community pages could still apply in other experience definitions
where the portlet layout override is disabled.
Note: Portlet layouts are not available if adaptive portlet layouts are disabled in the portal configuration files.
