You can specify which user properties can be sent to content crawlers, remote portlets, and federated searches as user information. You can select what user information is sent to a particular object in the Web Service Editor associated with the object. User information is sent to objects as name-value pairs, where the name is the attribute specified here.
The value sent with each property is user-specific and can be set in one of two ways—users can set property values for their own profiles on the Edit User Profile page, or profile Web services can set values for groups of users automatically. Generally, if a profile Web service is used, properties are set as read-only by the administrator, thus disabling manual manipulation.
The Full Name attribute is a special case, and can be sent to objects even if not referenced on this page. Unless you override the default setting here, the Full Name attribute is initialized with the display name of the user.
