Edit My Communities
Communities are sites within the portal designed for a specific audience
or task. After you join a community, a link to the community displays
in the My Communities menu.

Joining and Leaving Communities
From the My Communities menu, select Edit
My Communities.
The Flyout My Communities Editor opens.
To join a community, under the community name,
click Join.
Note: Only those communities to which you have permission to
join are listed. If you do not see the community you are looking for,
ask your portal administrator to change your access privilege.
To leave a community, under the community name,
click Leave.
To see what a community looks like, under the
community name, click Preview.
From the Preview Community page you can perform the following actions:
If you are not already a member of the community,
you can join the community. To join the community and close the preview,
click Join this community.
To view a description of the community, click
Description. When you are finished,
click Close.
To return to the list of communities, click
Close.
To close the Flyout My Communities Editor and
save your changes, click Close Editor.
Tip: You can also click 
in the upper right corner
of the Flyout My Communities Editor.
Searching for and Browsing Communities
You can perform the following actions to help you find communities:
To search for communities, in the Search
for Communities text box, type the text you want to search for
and click Search. You may use
wild card characters in this text box. For searching tips, see Text
Search Rules.
To page through the list of communities, click
a page number or click Next>>.
Recommending Communities
To recommend a community to other users:
Under the community name, click Invite.
In the dialog box, copy the text, then click Close.
In your e-mail application, paste the text into
an e-mail message and send it.
When other portal users click the URL in your e-mail, they are taken
to the community preview and given the option to join. If a user does
not have permission to see the community, an error message is displayed.
