A group is a set of portal users and/or other portal groups. Groups can be used to assign activity rights or access privileges. All of the members of the group will inherit the rights of the group.
The following groups are created upon installation:
Administrators Group: This group provides full access to everything in the portal: all objects, all utilities, and all portal activities.
Everyone: This group includes all portal users, whether created manually through the administration menu, imported from authentication sources, or created through the Create an Account page.
You can perform the following actions on this page:
Under Parent Group Memberships, specify the groups to which this group should be a member:
To make this group a member of another group,
click Add
Group. In the Select Groups dialog box, search for or navigate
to the groups to which you want to add this group, select them, and click
OK. To add this group to another
group, you must have at least Select access
to that group.
To remove a parent group, select it and click
.
To select or clear all of the group check boxes, select or clear the box to the left of Members.
To toggle the order in which the groups are
sorted, click Members or click
the icon to the right of that— (sort ascending, a-z) or
(sort descending, z-a).
Under Group Members, specify the members of this group:
To add members to this group, click Add User/Group.
In the Select Members dialog box, search for or navigate to the groups
and users you want to add to this group, select them, and click OK. To add a user or group to this group,
you must have at least Select access
to that user or group.
To remove a member, select it and click .
To select or clear all of the member check boxes, select or clear the box to the left of Members.
To toggle the order in which the members are
sorted, click Members or click
the icon to the right of that— (sort ascending, a-z) or
(sort descending, z-a).
The Dynamic Members section of the page displays a list of current dynamic members of this group. The job that updates dynamic memberships is the Dynamic Membership Update Agent job in the Intrinsic Operations folder.
Set the activity rights for members of the group on the Activity Rights page.
