When a user clicks Finish after editing an object in your portal, the object is locked to prevent other users from saving their changes simultaneously. Generally, a locked object is unlocked soon after the user finishes editing it. However, events such as computer crashes and power outages might prevent the lock from being removed. For this reason, you, as a portal administrator, have the ability to remove locks.
All locked objects are listed in the Lock Manager. Each object type has its own page; for example, to view all locked content crawlers, on the left, under Edit Utility Settings, click Content Crawlers. The following information displays about each locked object:
Column |
Description |
Name |
Displays the name of the object. |
From Machine |
Displays the computer on which the object was being edited when it was locked. |
Date Acquired |
Displays the date this object was locked. |
By User |
