Note: You must create a profile Web service before you can create a remote profile source.
Note: Depending on what type of remote profile source you are creating, you might see additional settings. To see online help for those settings click the help button on the associated page.
Clear History
If you want to delete and re-import all user information previously imported by this profile source, click Clear History. This is useful when you add a new user property and want to look it up and update it for all users, or when you change a property from read-write to read-only and want to overwrite previous user modifications.
Profile Unique Key
You can pass a property from another profile source to this profile source by selecting a unique key to use with this profile source. For example, you may select a user property obtained from another profile source, and use this property value to identify users, and pull additional profile information, from this profile source.
Select one of the following:
Remote Unique Name (default) - Common examples are the GUID or User Name.
Remote Authentication Name - In most cases, this is the same as the Remote Unique Name.
User Property
Value - If you choose this, you can select any user property by
clicking Choose Property.
Profile Source Membership
To choose the users and groups for which user information should be imported:
If you have already imported users and groups from the associated user repository, under Profile Source Membership, specify the users and groups for which you want to import user information:
To add users or groups, click Add Users/Groups;
then, in the Profile Source Membership dialog box, select the users and
groups you want to add and click OK.
To remove a user or group, select the user
or group and click .
To select or clear all of the user and group check boxes, select or clear the box to the left of Users/Groups.
To toggle the order in which the folders are
sorted, click Users/Groups or
click the icon to the right of that— (sort ascending,
a-z) or
(sort descending, z-a).
