To specify and view settings for your Search Service:
You do not generally want to modify any of the settings under Host Settings. Refer to the Installation Guide for Oracle WebCenter Interaction (available on the Oracle Technology Network at http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/bea.html) for important information on these settings. Do not modify these settings unless absolutely necessary. If you set the host name or port number incorrectly, your portal will experience search and indexing failures.
You do not generally want to modify any of the settings under Advanced Settings unless specifically advised to do so by Oracle Customer Support or Oracle Professional Services. However, you might want to change the Maximum number of text excerpts (with keyword highlights) to display setting. Search results include excerpts with the matching text highlighted. This setting controls how many instances of matching text to display; setting a higher number requires more processing and, therefore, might negatively impact performance.
Under Search Repair Settings, specify how frequently your search index should repair itself and the next time you want it to do so.
