Portlet Preferences

Use this page to specify community preferences for the portlets displayed in your community and to hide the title bar of specific portlets.

• If a portlet in your community has community preferences, appears in the Community column. To set the preferences, click .

• If you can preview the portlet, the name of the portlet will appear as a link. To preview the portlet, click its name.

• Portlets can be displayed with or without title bars. Sometimes, a portlet is registered to suppress its title bar. If the portlet allows a title bar to be shown, a check box displays in the Display Title bar column. Clearing this check box suppresses the title bar for this portlet on this page.

Note: Certain features of a portlet (such as online help) might be unavailable from the community page if the title bar is suppressed.

• To edit an existing community within the community page:

1. In the My Communities menu, click the community you want to edit.
2. On the right, click Edit Page.
3. In the Flyout Editor, click Go to Advanced Editor.

4. On the left, under Edit Community Settings, click Portlet Preferences.

Note: To edit a community, you need Edit access for the community.

• To edit an existing community from Administration:

1. Click Administration and navigate to the community you want to edit.
2. Click the community name.
3. Click .

4. On the left, under Edit Community Settings, click Portlet Preferences.

• To create a new community:

1. Click Administration.
2. Open an administrative folder.
3. In the Create Object drop-down list, click Community.
4. In the Community Templates section, click Select Community Template.
5. In the Community Templates dialog box, choose a community template and click OK.
6. If this community template does not include a home page, in the Community Pages section, click Create Home Page; then, in the New Page dialog box, choose a page template and click OK.

7. On the left, under Edit Community Settings, click Portlet Preferences.

Note: To create a community, you need Edit access for the administrative folder and the Create Community activity right.
