Creating
and Editing Administrative Objects
The same process can be used to create or edit any administrative object
in the portal.
To create an administrative object:
- Click Administration.
- Open an administrative folder.
- In the Create Object drop-down list, click
the type of object you want to create.
- Complete the editor.
- To save your changes, click Finish.
- In the Save Object dialog box:
- Choose a location in which to save the
object.
- Name the object.
- Depending on the type of object, you might
also be able to:
- Type a description for the object.
- Specify whether the object can be migrated.
- Click the Security
tab, and specify what users and groups can access this object.
- When you are finished, click Save.
- If your object is created successfully, you have
the opportunity to create other associated
objects. For example, you might need to create a job to run the content
crawler you created, or you might need to create a portlet based on the
Web service you created. To create an associated object, click the appropriate
link on the Success page.
To edit an existing administrative object:
- Click Administration.
- Navigate to the object you want to edit.
- Click the object name.
Note: To edit a community, after opening the community
folder, click 
.
- Edit the values in the editor.
- To save your changes, click Finish.
To return to the administration page without saving your changes, click
Cancel.
