The Credential Vault Manager lets you manage lockboxes corresponding to external systems that users can access through the portal. For each external system accessible through the portal (such as an employee benefits application), create a lockbox. The lockbox represents an external account and specifies user name and password properties for this account.
End users can then enter login credentials for their external accounts, which correspond to the lockboxes you have set up, by selecting the Password Manager in their My Account settings.
When they access external systems through portlets, users will not need to log in again if their lockbox credentials are used for authentication.
To create a lockbox, click New Lockbox. Use the
Lockbox Editor
to define the lockbox.
To edit an existing lockbox, click its name.
To delete a lockbox, select it and click .
Note: To send credentials in portlet headers, using RSA public key/private key encryption, after setting up a lockbox, you must associate the lockbox with the remote portlet Web service (on the Authentication Settings page), enter the public key for RSA encryption in the remote server (on the Main Settings page), and use the IDK to provide the private key for RSA encryption (see the Oracle WebCenter Interaction Web Service Development Guide, which is located on the Oracle Technology Network at http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/bea.html for information).
