My Pages

My Pages are your personalized view of the portal. Each My Page displays portlets that you choose. Portlets (tools embedded in your portal) allow you to integrate applications, tools, and services into your portal. For example, you can have a portlet providing a search tool for all the employees in a company or allowing you to order lunch online.

Page Options

At the bottom of the page, under Page Options, you can access the following functionality that allows you to customize your My Pages:

• Create New Page lets you create a new My Page.

• Edit Page lets you change a page's name or move the portlets up or down.

• Add Portlets lets you add portlets to the My Page you are viewing.

• Edit Portlet Preferences lets you configure some of your portlets. You can also access preferences for a particular portlet by clicking in the portlet's title bar.

• Delete This Page deletes the My Page you are viewing. When you click Delete This Page, the page is immediately deleted without further confirmation.

To navigate to the page options, click Jump to My Page Options.

Navigation Menus

The following navigation menus are located on the left side of all My Pages, community pages, and Knowledge Directory pages:

• My Pages: This is a list of all your My Pages. Click a page name to view it.

• My Communities: This is a list of all the communities you belong to. Click a community name to view it. To learn more about the My Communities menu, refer to My Communities.

• Directory: Access all the folders in the Knowledge Directory by clicking Browse Directory. To learn about the Knowledge Directory, refer to Browse Directory.

• Mandatory Links: These links are set by your portal administrator. You cannot add or remove links.

Searching the Portal

There are two ways to search the portal:

• The portal banner has a search box as well as links to advanced search and federated search. To learn more about portal banner search, refer to My Home, My Account, Logging Off, Help, and Searching.

• The Portal Search Portlet lets you search the portal and displays your recent and saved searches. To learn more about saving search results, refer to Search Results.

Minimizing and Maximizing Portlets

• To minimize a portlet so that only the title bar appears on your My Page, click on the title bar.

• To maximize a portlet so the entire portlet displays, click on the title bar.

Managing Your Account

At the top of the portal, click My Account to perform the following functions:

• Change your user profile.
• Customize your view of the portal.
• Change your time zone or language display.
• Specify the types of results you want a search to return.
• View your user profile, the folders for which you are listed as an expert, and the communities you manage.
• Change your portal account password.
